Bouygues Telecom selects Kaltura for Next-Generation IPTV and OTT service

France’s Bouygues Telecom has chosen Kaltura’s technology to power its next-generation IPTV and OTT digital TV service. The cloud-based TV platform from Kaltura will provide content, service, subscriber, household, and offer management for the new service. Bouygues Telecom plans to migrate its existing TV service from an on-prem deployment to a cloud-based operation.

By moving to the cloud, Bouygues Telecom aims to leverage the agility and interactivity of the cloud while benefiting from broadcast-grade scalability and resilience. This transition will also help reduce service complexity and costs.

Kaltura’s selection as the vendor of choice has been applauded by Shuki Eytan, general manager media & telecom at Kaltura. He believes that by embracing cloud TV, telcos can undergo digital transformation and offer leading-edge services to their customers. Kaltura looks forward to implementing and launching an advanced TV platform that aligns with Bouygues Telecom’s content strategy and delivers an enhanced entertainment experience to French consumers.

CommScope is playing a vital role in integrating and rolling out the project. The company’s telecommunications expertise will support the successful implementation of Kaltura’s technology platform.

Bouygues Telecom plans to offer a customer-centric service that combines multimedia content from its partners with its own content and third-party services. This will allow subscribers to access a comprehensive selection of content through the advanced next-gen video entertainment service.

Jean Paul Arzel, CTO at Bouygues Telecom, is excited about developing a next-generation TV service that offers an attractive and best-in-class experience. The new service will provide agility and efficiency in integrating new services, ensuring that systems and functionalities are always up-to-date.
