The US FCC Begins Process to Restore Net Neutrality Regulations

Lead Pollution near Telecommunications Cables in Pennsylvania

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on Thursday that soil sampling for lead in two Pennsylvania towns near telecommunications cables has revealed no immediate threats to public health. The soil sampling was conducted in response to an investigation by the Wall Street Journal, which uncovered lead-covered telecommunications cables across the country. The EPA tested soil near telecommunications cables in Coal Center and California, Pennsylvania.

While the EPA acknowledges that some soil samples show lead concentrations above the EPA screening level of 400 parts per million, they believe there is no cause for immediate government action.
