Mobile broadband has gained some momentum in Turkmenistan in the struggling fixed-line market. The slow growth in the telecom services in Turkmenistan, the predominantly rural country as well as the former Soviet Republic that can be attributed to the large extent to slow development of private sector as well as the state control over most economic activities. The Turkmenistan mobile market has been able to experience extraordinary growth over the period starting from the year 2007 to the year 2013. For a period of five years, that is beginning from the year 2013 to the year 2018, mobile market has increased at a very slow pace, as market saturation is slowly being reached as there has been some inevitable slow in development rate. Slow growth has been predicted over the coming five years to the year 2023. Market is going to continue being strained from the high growth due to the further maturing market.

Turkmenistan has been able to experience various problems that relate to communications technology. Well, despite such efforts to be able to upgrade this country’s telecom infrastructure, telephone network continues to remain very poor grown, and many of the villages have left without the telephone services — the fixed-line penetration over the past four years that have been developing slowly from the relatively small base.

The fixed broadband penetration in the Turkmenistan has remained limited in both the scale as well as nature, and it has been extremely low, and this was mainly due to the limited number of the fixed lines and dominance of mobile platform.
