Etisalat, in collaboration with Huawei, has announced the successful completion of its “400G@ Super C+L” transport network trial. This achievement marks a significant milestone in network capacity and efficiency, playing a crucial role in supporting green development initiatives and establishing a strong foundation for hyperscale cloud computing.
The trial focused on testing the Super C+L solution, which demonstrated the ability to support up to 12THz of spectrum resources. This is a substantial improvement compared to the traditional extended C-band solution, which can only support 4.8THz of spectrum resources. The Super C+L technology paves the way for high-speed data transmission, serving as the backbone of modern digital transformation.
This remarkable achievement has resulted in a 2.5 times increase in network efficiency, effectively supporting industries’ digital transformation efforts. Expanding optical fiber spectrum resources is a crucial strategy for achieving high-speed data transmission in next-generation Optical Networks.
Marwan bin Shakar, Senior Vice President of Access Network Development at Etisalat, expressed the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions. He highlighted the significance of the Super C+L trial in meeting the growing demand for scalable and resilient data transmission solutions.
The adoption of Super C+L technology by Etisalat not only improves network efficiency but also minimizes energy consumption, contributing to a more environmentally-friendly ecosystem. This initiative aligns with the company’s sustainability objectives, promoting energy efficiency and fostering a greener future.
